On Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, the faculty of the Department of Modern Languages & Literatures held an all-day retreat sponsored by the Dean of Arts & Sciences at the Washington Club to discuss the history, current situation, and future directions and goals of the Department. Students will soon see the exciting new initiatives that we are proposing, including new academic programs that would involve collaborating with other academic units, such as Politics, Business & Economics, Education, Nursing, Art, Architecture, and Law. Students will also see more collaboration among the different language sections, and the introduction of new languages, such as Chinese. Modern Standard Arabic, and Portuguese/Brazilian. Stay tuned!
