The Catholic University of America

CUA Gaels

The CUA Gaels’ mission is to bring Irish cultural events and activities to the Catholic University campus. The club focuses on celebrating Irish culture through dance, music, sport, charity, language, history, education and faith. Around 30 members participate in club activities and bi-weekly events. These include trivia nights, céilís, concerts, Irish-American speakers and Irish dance performances. The club has an Irish dance team with dancers of all levels. The team competes at intercollegiate festivals and performs regularly at university and other events in the DC area. The CUA Gaels is also an Irish language club. As a result it participates in activities organized by the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures.
Club membership is open to all who are interested in Ireland and Irish culture. The CUA Gaels welcome you to join in club events and activities, and would like to give all students and those from the wider community the opportunity to be part of what it does.
