 Grants and Awards for Students

The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures is pleased to offer a series of grant opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate  students. These links will take you to information about the scholarships and the online application forms.

Undergraduate grants and awards focus on providing stipends to outstanding students from any of the languages offered by the Department for study abroad opportunities during the school year (fall and spring semesters abroad), as well as short-term summer study stipends. In addition we also host chapters of Pi Delta Phi (the National French Honor Society), Sigma Delta Pi (the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society, la Sociedad Nacional Honoraria Hispánica) and Delta Phi Alpha (German National Honors Society).

Graduate grants and awards are designed to support the research endeavors of our graduate teaching fellows. To this aim, we offer the Lee-Hatzfeld Award, a dissertation guidance scholarship, as well as the Alessandro S. Crisafulli Grant-In-Aid to read a paper at a conference.

Lastly, we are happy to provide a list of external funding possibilities for undergraduates and graduate students that you are strongly encouraged to check out and discuss with your adviser. These scholarships and fellowships are important ways to make the most of your time and education at CUA and we hope that you follow up on these exciting opportunities
