MA in Arabic Studies, Georgetown University (2013)

Elizabeth Guthrie received her M.A. in Arabic Studies at Georgetown University (2013) and has studied Arabic for eight years.  In addition to teaching intermediate and advanced Arabic levels and directing cultural programming at CUA, she will teach a content course on Humanitarian Issues and Development in the Middle East in the spring.  Elizabeth has traveled and worked in many countries in the Arabic-speaking world including Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt, Lebanon, and Jordan.  She has worked at a number of NGOs, as well as the Palestinian diplomatic mission in Washington, D.C.  She also gained valuable experience managing the Critical Language Scholarship program's Arabic study abroad site in Jordan.  Over the past year, she again resided in Jordan as a CASA fellow.
