My name is Davon Lee. I am a Nursing major and Asian Studies minor. Although learning another language can be tough especially with a major like Nursing, it will open doors for you to build new relations and connections with people from a completely different culture and or country. The Chinese courses at Catholic have provided me with a very strong foundation in Mandarin. The other classes under the Asian Studies program have given me the competency to understand historical, cultural, and political aspects of Asian societies. I was recently accepted into Tsinghua University, one of China’s top two universities for a Masters in International Development. I plan to use everything I've learned in the Nursing and Asian studies program here at Catholic University in conjunction with the International Development program to help establish sustainable healthcare systems in developing countries. I would like to give a special thanks to Hwang Shufen, who has been my Chinese Professor since freshman year. Thank you to the Department of Modern Languages for making the Asian Studies Program available to our student body. Lastly but not least, I would like to thank my professors from the School of Nursing for the support and encouragement I've received here during my time at CUA.

My name is Celina Holler, and I am a junior International Business Major with a Minor in Asian Studies. I have been taking Mandarin Chinese and have been involved with Chinese Club since I came to CUA first semester my freshman year. Taking Chinese at CUA has been wonderful and unique experience. I have learned so much about the language and the culture from my great professors and peers. I look forward to being president of the club again next year so that, with the other executive officers, the club can host events to share what we have learned with the rest of the CUA community.
