A native of the Washington area, Chris Brush studied Mathematics, English, and Art at Emory & Henry College in the mountains of Southwestern Virginia. His interest in Modern Languages and Literatures stems in part from his language study as a Master of Music candidate in vocal performance here at CUA. He appeared as Figaro in a university production of Mozart’s "Marriage of Figaro" in 1987 and in other supporting roles and choruses for Summer Opera over 14 seasons. In 1988 he traveled with the School of Music to perform for John Paul II on the occasion of the university's centennial. He has sung for numerous churches and synagogues in the area and now sings primarily for the Cathedral of St. Matthew, the Apostle in downtown Washington. His interest in math and art have combined in a number of ways including geometric models, quilts, and thousands of paper snowflakes.
Chris belongs to several clubs and assists a number of charities in the Baltimore Washington region. He has volunteered for many years to serve as CUA team captain for AIDSWalk Washington, benefiting the Whitman Walker Clinic.
